This article was recently shared with me, but it doesn’t say too much:

> Arne Gennerich, PhD, Professor of Biochemistry at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and a 2022 XSeed Award winner, is racing to develop a treatment for patients with rare genetic neurological disorders known as KAND.

I think the most telling line is this:

> Our goal is to find a small molecule that improves the function of the mutant protein, helping it behave more like the wild-type. Ultimately, we’re aiming to restore near-normal function in the mutant.

What do we know about the potential of this approach, and the potential time this might take? I know you guys are aware of the research to some degree, as it looks like you had an interview with Arne back in 2022.

> Ahead of our 2022 Virtual KAND Family & Scientific Engagement Conference on August 13, 2022, KIF1A.ORG interviewed core KIF1A Research Network members to discuss their #relentless efforts to understand KIF1A and help KAND patients in this special...

I guess I’m just wondering if there’s much progress and potential here.
